Waning Moon Doula
Waning Moon Doula
Doula δούλα doúla, “servant-woman”
I am a fierce lover of life and I see awe as my greatest teacher. I identify strongly with being in service of people, cycles and the natural world. Meeting people at their edges and guiding people through thresholds are my highest callings. Death is the most powerful threshold I have encountered in this life and am deeply honored to be in service of the dying process.
My leadership and facilitation background is rooted in 15 years of outdoor leadership. The places I work and the people I lead have brought me endless humility and deep gratitude. Living closely to death and wild places inspire awe and wonder in me and keep me grounded.
I am an INELDA trained Death Doula and a Hospice volunteer in the Yampa Valley. I work with individuals, families and communities to greet death, however it comes. I have always felt drawn to be near death and dying. Now, more than ever, I see a growing need to expand the support available to individuals as well as communities. I am actively broadening my offerings and creating group gathering spaces for people to be held in collective awareness of loss.
I am called to serve all people and all forms of death, it is never "too-late" or the "wrong time" to work with a death doula. All people and all death is worthy of honor and ceremony. I welcome women experiencing or choosing pregnancy loss. I welcome individuals choosing the Medical Aid in Dying path. I welcome families navigating the sudden death of a loved one from trauma, suicide, over-dose or addiction. I want to walk alongside you, each of you.
My highest hope is that when I encounter you at an edge or crossing a threshold, you will feel confidently guided towards truth, love, and expansion.
